Stoney Racing MG TF 1.8 PRT Silicone Coolant Hose Kit. Note: Some types of coolant are not compatible with silicone hoses. This high quality reinforced silicone hose kit replaces 23 coolant hoses including the front radiator hoses, heater hoses and other minor coolant hoses at the front of the car and in the engine bay. The hoses are a direct fit for the Pressure Relief Thermostat (PRT) model which was fitted to late’03 onwards vehicles as standard. The hoses can also be used to retrofit a PRT to an earlier manual MG F or TF (from VIN YD522572 onwards) models. The majority of the hose will also fit earlier MG F models up to VIN YD522572 but one throttle body hose needs modifying by cutting the hose and rejoining it with a plastic or aluminium connector (not supplied) so that the end of the hose can be rotated 180 degrees, to fit the earlier model. Upgrading and relocating the original thermostat to a PRT is a common upgrade for earlier vehicles to help prevent head gasket failure. The PRT thermostat is not included but is commonly available, along with a few other parts listed below that you will need to fit a PRT to the vehicle. These parts are not supplied with this kit. The above parts along with our hose kit covers everything you need to upgrade to a PRT. Note that there are two versions of hose #14 on the diagram in the gallery for this kit, a single piece for cars that came without a PRT and a 3-piece assembly for cars that came with a PRT. You will only need one of these hose assemblies for any particular vehicle. The hoses will also fit VVC models but the kit does not include the two additional VVC hoses for the oil cooler which are available as a separate kit. Available in our store in. The kit is available with a full set of hose clamps using the options above. The three types of clamp we offer are shown below, but not all options will appear for some kits due to clamp size limitations. Spring clamps are the most commonly used type by vehicle manufacturers. They provide excellent evenly distributed clamping force and are generally the best option for clamping coolant hoses, but they can be fiddly to fit/remove, and being mild steel they are more prone to surface rust over time. Whilst this won’t affect the performance or lifespan of the clamp some customers prefer our stainless steel options below which tend to look better and still perform as they should. Worm-Drive clamps have slightly less evenly distributed clamping force as the Spring type clamps, but they are still a good quality clamp and usually easier to fit/remove in the tight confines of an engine bay. Being 100% stainless steel they do not rust, so we recommend this type of clamp if you are concerned about the appearance of your engine bay. T-Bolt clamps Not available for this product. For some vehicles the original clamps can be reused so we also offer our kits without clamps, but please be aware our silicone hoses are slightly thicker than the standard hoses so in some cases the original clamps may be too small. Fitment: Direct replacement for the standard hoses. Construction: 4.5mm 4-ply silicone with 3-ply polyester reinforcing. Max Operating Pressure: >7bar. Operating Temperature range: -50°c to 180°c. Occasionally a hose may need to be trimmed slightly which can be done with a sharp utility/stanley knife with a NEW blade using a hose clamp as a guide to get a straight cut.
